10/19/18 Upper Potomac - Great Fall Afternoon

I slept in and let the air temps warm a little before going out today.  I got on the water a little after 10:30am and it was in the mid to upper 40's.  Water temp was in the upper 50's to about 60 degrees.  I ran up a ways and decided to hit an island chute first.  I cast a small swimbait on a SWM head and I felt it bump the rocks.  I cast again, and thought I felt a bite.  I reeled in and my tail was bit off.  I threw a tube back in and hooked a really nice 17"er.

I was pumped and thought there might be fish stacked up there.  I worked the area hard for too long and did not get another bite.  I decided to float down the next island that had some fish my last trip out.  It did not take long to find a tube bite near shore and boulder eddies.  I caught a 15.75, 16.5+ and a really nice 15.5" LM along with a 15" and 2 smaller fish.

I finally moved and found more in similar areas.  I caught a 14.5, 15.5 another 17 along with a couple smaller ones.

Then I threw to a spot between a tree and a rock an wham!  Hooked a bigger one at 19".  Beautiful, strong fish!

That was number 11 or 12.  The bite slowed, but everytime I was about to stop, I threw the crankbait and I caught 3 or 4 more for a total of 15 fish.

I did not want to stop, but it was getting dark.  I just beat the crew team coming in.  The water color is perfect and the fish are biting, once you find them.

Yes, but most were on the tube.  Jerkbait time is probably here with clearer water.  None on the crankbait today.  Caught 2 on a spinnerbait though,,,
