Jimmy and I were supposed to fish Wednesday but after I saw the wind forecast, I asked if he could go Tuesday. Of course he could, he's retired!

We were on the water at 8:45a and immediately headed upriver. It was chilly and a bit windy out at 1st but nice.

I stopped to call John to see where he was fishing so I would not be in his way. He said, "over here, I'm looking at you!". I had stopped near the MD shore and he was straight across from me at the VA shore. Never saw him until I was talking to him.

We started down the middle to see if we could duplicate what John and Quinn did the day before but we got no bites.

So we hop scotched John and went to the same shore line but up a bit.

After a bit, the sunk finally came off with a 12 incher.

After this area got cold, we went upriver where John had caught a few. At 1st, we had no luck but then we caught a few nice ones in less than an hour. I then caught a nice 14 incher...

...and Jimmy got his skunk of with the big fish of the day at 14.25"!

I caught a couple more....

I have seen some cool things on the river. Of course, we see eagles, herons. egrets, hawks etc. Yesterday we saw some squirrels with huge tails.

But today, as I happened to look in the middle of the river, we saw this!

These three deer were swimming across the current like it was not there. Very impressive. They went on shore without a struggle and just kept on doing what ever they were going to be doing.

My trolling motor ran down due to trying to hold the boat in the current for most of the day so we floated down (no bites) before we got off the river.

Great day fishing with Jimmy...lots of laughs and lots of reminiscing about many a fishing day in the past.

Very cool!  Jimmy's picture did not post.  At least he caught one.  Tricky conditions with the cold front.

Pix fixed, thanks. I caught 6-7 and lost 2 decent ones at the boat. No tellin' how big but they were pulling.

Jimmy's fish is the biggest smallie he's ever caught. He could not believe the fight!

Sorry to hear you are under the weather.  Colds suck.

It's not bad...I could still fish and should have today. Weather forecasters suck more than colds!

Looks like a good time! Always cool to see what displays of nature are encountered during your trips.
