Upper Potomac 10/8/18

It was good to get out again.  Early and very foggy!  I caught my first one on a spinnerbait when they would not hit on top.  17.5"er.

I caught one dink on a Whopper Plopper by an island before running upriver.  That was dicey in the fog.  The fog did not really clear until almost 11am.  All for naught, as I only caught one fish that was a little over 15".

I talked to Ernie and they were kicking my butt downstream, so I headed that way.  I was working the same island Ernie and Bob had fished and started hooking some fish.  After one smaller fish, I hooked a nice 17"er on a craw.

Then I hooked several on a tube.  One was 15.25", one was 15" (no picture) and another couple smaller ones.  The last fish of the day hit a green pumpkin Keitech swim bait.  It was 15.75"

I hooked one more dink and finished with 9 smallies.  That island saved my day, thanks to Ernie for sharing the intel!  The water was still high and fast, but the color was pretty good in much of the rriver.

Nice fish. Surprised they weren't hitting topwaters in those conditions.

We were up river from you in Kayaks.  Phenomenal day

Smallies on every 3-4 cast, flocks of turkeys, deer everywhere.  Water was tea green and safe
