Just plain crazy hot down here. Heat index right now (12:11 pm) is 104 degrees . Got out last evening at a little after 8 pm. Picked up one punk and that was it.
Was soaking wet with sweat by 9:30 and headed back in.
Got on the water at 5 am this morning to around 78 degrees air temp and water temp of 89. Found plenty of fish but they had lock jaw. They just don't feel like moving for a lure when they are so sluggish in the hot water that has minimal dissolved oxygen. Need some rain to cool the water off some and add a little O2.

This heat is coming at the worst time....90 degrees at 9AM.
Almost the entire back of my house is exposed...we're bumping out the family room and kitchen. My AC won't get the house under 78 at night.
Sorry for turning your thread into a rant thread Curly!

I’ll hijack it too....I love the heat as long as I’m hydrated. Took a nice bike ride at noon. Man the road is hot! But I ain’t stupid. After an hour, I came in to stretch and cool off.

Going out again at 8 pm, but not very hopeful. Heat index at 4:10 pm is 106!
Hemby was fishing right next to me with his clients this morning. They would hook one up about every 15 minutes on live bait in their faces. Jigging everything in my tackle box would not entice the stripers and we were not 25 yards between boats.
Really don't want to resort to live bait fishing

Back to fishing. Went this evening and only got one. This throwback on a deeper crankbait.
