First fishing trip on the new ride, Chesapeake Bay 6/23-6/24

Finally got my "project boat" out on the water for its first fishing trip.

The boat ran well and served it's purpose perfectly, but unfortunately the fish weren't as cooperative. I towed down to Deltaville and spent all weekend chumming for cobia off Windmill Point...but all I caught was a ray, and a couple little blues that I used for bait.

No fish pics, but this was my view all weekend. Got chased off by a nasty storm on Saturday afternoon but other than that the weather was as nice as I could have asked for.

I did have several long runs that simply dropped the bait and left me with a dead and mangled eel. Another angler told me those were likely small cobia.

Saw some nice fish landed on other boats and heard of a a lot of small ones and a few big ones over the radio, but it just wasn't my turn I guess. I'll definitely be back at it soon!
