February 20th – Alex & Mark Binsted - “Fishing Fletchers Cove” – Alex & Mark will be discussing the wide array of angling opportunities throughout the calendar year at Fletchers Cove.  Mark will also give us an update on the “Friends of Fletchers Cove” organization that is committed to protecting this incredible fishery. We look forward to having the Binsted’s as our first guest speakers of 2018!

Mark Binsted and his son, Alex Binsted, both grew up in DC’s Palisades neighborhood along the Potomac River. They have spent entirely too much time fishing for shad, striped bass, white perch, sunfish, largemouth & smallmouth bass, and snakehead just minutes from their house. Both worked for the Fletcher family as teenagers. Alex is now the Manager at The Boathouse at Fletcher’s Cove and also produces beautiful shad flies, streamers and jigs. Mark, a residential architect, has help organize the annual National Capital Angling Show for NCC-TU and writes their popular email “Shad Report” every spring.
