Bill and I were to meet up at the ramp at 7a but it was raining so we delayed it until 8a but it was still raining so we went to the snack bar at Algonkian and hung out until the rain stopped.
Finally, around 9:30a, we splashed the boat.
The original plan was to run upriver and fish off Harrison Island but since we had lost some time and we wanted to have lunch at BRG, we opted to fish close by.
It was SLOOOOOOOOOOOW!
We had to make each bite count because there were very few of them. We tried the middle, the ledges, the shore line, the middle again, some more ledges and some more shoreline. No fish on the shoreline.
1st fish was a BG that got off and then we caught a few smallies and a nice BG.
I think the total tally was 6 smallies and the BG.
Saw very little life in the water.
One spot gave us an adrenaline rush as we both got hit (me on top) and caught a few.
We finally called it around 1:30p and headed over to BRG...I had a coupon. They have closed their doors. So we then went to Famous Dave's BBQ. Well, he ain't so famous anymore...they have closed their doors.
Finally we went to The Don's Wood Fired Pizza and had some good subs.
Fishing was slow as was finding a restaurant.....
Nice day to be out after the rain. It stayed cloudy but the fish just did not cooperate.

Sorry to hear! I was bummed about Famous Dave's. Scary how stuff is closing around this part of town. Lots of new restaurants too, though. More town center style...

I was never a big fan of FD but when hungry, it was an adequate place.
