Greg and I splashed the boat at 1pm and after a 25 minute run, we were fishing and he was happy!
Water was loooow (POR was @ 1.3') and current was fast where we started. Running up was a little hairy as the water was crystal clear and it felt like we were running in a foot of water.
We only had until 5ish so we concentrated on one stretch and did OK.
Most fish were caught on a tune, 1-2 on a jerk bait and a couple on a spinner bait. I'd say we caught around 16-18 smallies....all under 14".
Interestingly, they were not chasing today. While drifting, I saw one and threw the jerk bait and the fish turned away. I then threw a tube and he immediately inhaled it.
It drizzled for a few minutes but it felt like mid October, not Sep. 1. It was a chilly ride for sure....not sure I'm ready for that yet.

They kept us interested. I would call it a slow bite but we would get one once in a while when hitting a target.
