8-3-17, Severn River

Bob and I went out today to try to add to our totals for the Severn River Rod & Keg Club White Perch Tourney. This is a two month long tourney. Biggest fish wins 50% of the pot. Top 3 aggregate fish wins 30% of the pot. Bob has won it the last 2 years. I forgot to enter last year and would have beaten Bob when I caught my 13 incher! My bad...his gain!

It was a splendid morning!

Bob's 1st fish (I forgot to get mine).

The water was dirty in places and that slowed fishing down some but we caught many....and many over 10"! But we were not able to get any 11 inchers....

Bob improved his numbers by 3/4 of an inch and I added a 1/4" with this nice 10 3/4" perch!

We tried a new shoreline but they were smaller but we did manage a couple of 10 inchers. We even tried vertical jigging over an oyster reef and a bridge piling but that didn't work out well.

Great day out....still have close to 2 months to chase these tasty critters!

Time to go fishin' again!
