I am going to try and fish the upper James near Glasgow this weekend (first Time). I have done some research on put in's and take out's in that area, but that is about it. Does anyone have any advice or tips on that area.
My wife will be at a horse show. She will drop me and my toon off and pick me up half a day later.
Or I might rent a Kayak and get a shuttle.

half a day?
lemme think on this and I'll get back atcha, you might be better suited with a yak or wading for half day. I've fished that area a lot.
I'm guessing the missus will be at the Horse Center in Lexington? if so, you could probably hang closer to town and still find some smallies if you wanted to.
more to come, i gots meetins

Thanks Josh
I sent you a e-mail.
Half day because I thought the Tubbers might be out in full force on Memorial weekend afternoons.

there's a lot of water draining to that river, don't know what its doing down that way now, but its rainning pretty good here. could get nasty before the weekend arrives

I just came back from that area and the James was running hard on Sunday afternoon. I don't know that I would attempt it until that water goes down and I imagine that it will still be a while. They have been getting rain every other day.

Thanks for the info.
What is a average summer flow? the gage height is at 3.1 at Glasgow now.
