9-27-14, Deale

Just a little chilly this morning but a spectacular day awaited us. big_smile

Jimmy and I were on the water by 7:30a.

Our 1st stop resulted in no hits so we hit the jetty. It was slooooooow to say the least but Jimmy pulled out a nice 9.75" perch. Not a bad start!

The tide was on the way out so we decided to hit the little bridge. Sure enough, tons of current but no fish! Except this one which I thought was a nice perch!

We then hit Spanish roof house. Nada!

We hit the flats. Nada!

We hit the beach jetty. Nada!

We hit the bulkhead. Nada but I did have a nice follow by a pretty big perch!

We hit the beach jetty again,. Nada!

We then went deep, 15-25' of water. Tons of marks and one foul hooked bunker. Nada!

We then went back to shallow flats. Nada!

Finally, we went back to the Deale jetty and I caught a 10 incher. No pic because I needed an 11 incher or higher to move up in the SRRKC White Perch tourney standings.

Me thinks the perch have moved out of the shallows. Water temps never hit 70 today.

Now I have to wait until next June to get my shallow water perch fix again....sad

Looks like Bob may have finished tied for 1st in the tourney.....still have to wait a few days to find out.

You were late posting, I was starting to worry. Shame you didn't bag a brute, I was pulling for you. I need one @ 11.75 and still have 3 days to find it. Problem is you just named all of the spots I know. What's a percher to do? I'll be glad when it's over so I can hit Aqualand to play with my striped friends.

One year ago today..... http://www.pacemakerfishing.com/forum/v … 123#p28123

This tourney will drive you nuts! Always looking for a bigger perch. I love the way it is set up.

If the standings hold, Bob will tie for 1st (in his 1st year) with 34.75" for his best 3! I will be 3rd w/34.5".

Check these numbers:

2013- Winner had 37.5", I was 3rd w/ 34.5".
2012- Winner had 37.25", I was 4th w/ 36.5".
2011- Winner had 40"! I was 2nd w/ 36". Woody CRUSHED everyone!
2010- Winner had 36.875", I was 5th w/ 34.5". Again, Woody crushed!

One thing about fishing from the yak, if the big one is caught it was you that caught it.

Re: 9-27-14, Deale

BTW, the persistent NE wind did play as it made it difficult to get in between the poles at Spanish house and made it hard to hold the point at the beach jetty.

I did dream of catching a monster last night.....

Luckily it was a beautiful day (looking for the positive).  Its those dreams of the monsters that are part of why I love fishing.  If we always caught huge fish, there wouldn't be anything to dream about (at least about fishing!) big_smile

Greg- I totally agree. While it was frustrating it was not stressful. If I cross that line...I will quit fishing.

Nice to be able to say "I know that spot"

Pretty cool stuff, sad to hear the bite was off though

Looks like it was a nice day out.
