6-27-14, out of St. Jerome's Creek w/ lots of pics.......

.....of the scenery.

Talk about a dry spell.

Brady, Bob, Chas and I met up at 0600 at Buzz's marina.

Our plan was to go chase some specks around Smith island (waaaaaay over on the other side of the bay)! Before we did that, we stopped at an artificial reef and I caught the only real fish of the day!

We covered lots of water....more than 50 miles for sure....it was ugly. Not the weather or the water or the company or the talent on board. There were no fish. I had one bite and saw 1 fish chase my lure all day. That's it!

Bob did land this monster!

If I didn't love being out on the water so much...I would have quit trying to fish and taken up golf!

Lots of familiar sights from both sides of the bay. Was the water any cleaner this trip? Are you ready to float some spot yet?
I'd comment on the golf idea, but you already know you'd lose your balls.

I'll stick to playing golf to 1 or 2 times a year....

The most distressing part about yesterday was getting a call from Mo telling me he had been skunked for white perch at Deale. No way that can happen in June!

I like the look of the bucktail that caught that monster. Thanks for the report.

Fantastic pics Ernie and yes dry spells do happen.. Mine was Sunday and the tide was a bit odd for us. Was the tide wrong ? Or is the whole season just a couple weeks late this year?

Who knows???? But it won't stop me from going out.

I still have a vivid memory of that fish that exploded on me that was under the branch and behind the brush pile.....

Nope.....not you. I've had some good days this year but more skunks or close to skunks than I can remember.
