Myrtle Beach Fishing

I am going down to Myrtle beach next week (staying on 2nd ave north right next to the 2nd ave pier) and was hoping to get some fishing in while i was down there. I have never been there and am looking for pointers on where to go, what to use, how to use it, when to go, any rules i should know about etc. I plan on bringing one surf rod and one casting/jigging rod. I am not bringing my kayak so i will be confined to the shore.

Thanks for the help!

Catch sand flees in the surf there and catch spot, croaker, and pompano.  Have fun!

Fish the trough between the breakers.  That beach usually has 2 sandbars between the beach and the furthest breakers.  Fish tend to follow the trough.  Easiest to find the trough at low tide and fish it at high tide big_smile .
