Predictions must be posted by 11 pm today! IAD reporting will be the official reporting station.
I say 7.5" here in Ashburn and 7.0 at IAD, but reserve to change before 11 pm.

4.5". Ever since I moved here from Michigan, the snowfall has tended to be under the predicted amount Curly, hoping you are right, though!

The underground forecasters are all over the place. The network guys were clueless to this. But a couple of the models are now looking the same....
We should know better by 11 pm when all of it lines up....

I'll go with whatever Topper predicts from the weather terrace on Tuesday's evening news. He might have a clue by then.

The following graphic is with a 10:1 ratio of snow:water. Most folks are predicting around 15:1 which would be around 7.5" for us.

Lily on TF is saying 6 - 12 locally with 18 possible to the east of us. If a TV person said that we'd have partly cloudy, but Lily is good.

NOAA says this:
A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT TUESDAY AND TUESDAY EVENING. LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP ALONG AN ARCTIC FRONT TO OUR SOUTH TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY EVENING...BRINGING ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE OUTLOOK AREA. 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED...WITH POSSIBLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN THE HIGHLANDS.
BITTERLY COLD CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED BEHIND AN ARCTIC FRONT TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. WIND CHILLS WELL BELOW ZERO ARE EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS. ELSEWHERE...WIND CHILLS BELOW ZERO ARE LIKELY.
Even if they only 20% right, there is NOTHING that I like about this forecast. Words like these make me sick; arctic, chills, zero, snow, bitterly.....oh, and my heating system is only running at 1/2 speed.

Yes it is...we could have fished but I had family stuff. I just completed an nice long walk....windy but very nice out. Savor it because we will fell like Polar Bears tomorrow.

I predict that snow will fall and salt drifts will need to be avoided in the daily commute. It will be a non event as work will not be delayed or cancelled.
Beautiful down town Accokeek will see about 1.5 inches on the grass and the roads will be barren. But just in case I will wear my PJ's inside out.

Capt. Mike - I think you are going to get hammered....by snow. 8"+ your way.
Curly- IAD always under reports. Those jets blow the snow away from the measuring device.

This is going to be interesting. We will have a high near 25 which means a "dry" snow and then we will have a northeast wind of 10-20 mph. That means blowing and drifting snow.....will be hard to calculate the 4-8" that is expected. I will bite on the 8".

I haven't checked anything but I will vote 6"

am I too late to predict?
I predict the federal gov't will be closed..(cause they're a bunch of pansies)..oh it already happened? lol
I say 6 only because I've been let down so often in the past few years. After snowmagedon, everything has been a disapointment.
