Ellen and I flew down to Houston to visit my sister and brother-in-law on Thursday for a long weekend. Randy (brother-in law) booked us a great redfish guide for Friday in the Galveston area. THe guide was a great guy with a very cool boat for shallow water.
Has a tunnel hole in the hull for running very shallow with 200 Yamy horses.
We are fishing 1-1.5 feet of water with 15+ winds, so we cannot really see the fish.....but can see the "mud boils" where they are feeding. Our goal was to take enough home for dinner tonight, but we did much better than that. We ended up with 16 reds from 23" to 29.5" with the biggest going 10.5 lbs. And plenty of speckled trout to boot. We kept 4 of the 23-25" reds for dinner. Here are the pics.........
Fish #1
Fish #2
Fish #3 (I had the first 3 fish......)
Randy's first one....
Randy fighting a nice one.
Me again.
Randy's turn........
Then, my megga speckled trout.
Followed by another red.
Randy with a beast.
Nice black Drum.
Another red....BUT WITHOUT ANY SPOTS!!!!
My biggest red at 6.5 lbs and 26.5".
And Randy hooks the 10.5 lb slob that was only 29.5".
And in the boat!
We had a great time and a blast catching so many redfish on light tackle!
