Pacemaker Fishing Forum

My brother just bought a house right on Monaco Cove in Miramar. I had heard (from Carlos) that this lake held Largemouth bass and Peacock bass. I was exited at the notion of hooking in to a peacock bass since I have never caught one.

I got some fly fishing tips (from Carlos) and I started fishing from the shore line. One hour later...I had a skunk going. It was very windy (20+kts).

My nephew then yelled out at me that he had seen a fish swim for some cover. "Sure, I have fallen for this lie a bunch of times", I said. He yelled out two more times and to humor him, I threw a streamer right where he wanted me to. Incredibly, a 1 lb largemouth smacked it and I landed the beauty. You should have seen my nephew's eyes!

Didn't catch another fish but I will be back in my quest for the peacock!
