Fletcher's

It was my first time fishing there.  When I got there the lot was mostly empty and but all the boats were out.  At first I headed upstream to check things out.  Then downstream, dodging boats all the way.  It was packed.  I was mostly using a spoon because that works for pretty much anything and I just wanted to catch something. I was really surprised to see how deep it is along that section.  Downstream from Fletcher's on the VA side it was over 50ft deep and tide wasn't all the way in yet.  That's got to be why the current really takes off once you pass downstream from Fletcher's.  Before that area was was most of the boats were anchored in 20-25ft.  I found an empty spot and dropped anchored.  I switched to a smaller spoon and eventually got my first and only hickory shad.  Some guys were catching a bunch.  Not sure what they were using.
