NOAA NATIONAL SALTWATER REGISTRY

OK.....here is the best way I can describe (borrowed it) what you need to do to fish tidal waters now.

For my boat, I have a Potomac River Fisheries Sport Fishing Boat License. I am automatically covered for fishing in both MD and VA (tidal) up to the WW Bridge (DC is another story). No further registration is needed....for ME!

BUT, if anyone wants to fish with me (under my boat license) or anyone else that has a boat, they MUST register in VA if fishing in VA waters and again with MD if fishing in MD water. The Potomac is considered MD.

Of course, if you have a PRFC license (you get a personal one when you get one for the boat), you are covered.

VA- http://www.mrc.virginia.gov/FIP/ and states

Re: NOAA NATIONAL SALTWATER REGISTRY

Just a reminder....if you are going to fish in the salt (white perch spots included), you need to get registered with NOAA.

Re: NOAA NATIONAL SALTWATER REGISTRY

Just registered....free and easy for VA and MD.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!
