Timonium (1/15), Richmond (1/22) or both?

The Timonium show is not as good (vendors) but has some great seminars (locals) so that's the one that I will definitely go to. It's 80 miles from Ashburn.

http://www.fishingexpo.com/seminars.shtml

My plan is to get there around 9:30 (leave at 8 AM), hit the seminars until 4 PM and then come back to Ashburn. If you want to go, let me know.

The Richmond Show (Doswell VA) is 96 miles from Ashburn but they have yet to set a seminar schedule. If Cabin Fever sets in more than what I have now, I will also go and help support the BRHS Fishing Club (they have a bootth there).

Still interested in the Timonium show. I'll double check with the wife. I am out for the Richmond show however.

OK...for Timonium, the big truck will be leaving my driveway on Saturday (15th) at 8:00 AM and return to the same spot NLT 3:30 PM.

Still have room....

Would love to go with you guys, but there is only a couple more weekends that I can duck hunt.
There is nothing like waking up at 4am to go stand in nearly frozen water.

Re: Timonium (1/15), Richmond (1/22) or both?

Decent show....not too many deals to be had but I stocked up on some trusty fish catchers. Saw lots of friends and talked to several guides.

Patrick and I went to two seminars, both were very good and worth the price of admission.

At 10, we went to Mark Kovach's Fly Fishing class. He covered the basics and went over true and tried casting concepts. very helpful.

At 1, we went over to the Big Tank and watched Elite Pro Kelly Jordon talk about fishing in the grass. His technique is using a Texas rigged beaver tail with a 1 oz. pegged weight using a heavy rod and 65 pound braid. He did a great job of simplifying what he does.

Re: Timonium (1/15), Richmond (1/22) or both?

OK....it's almost 50 degrees today and there is no chance for me to whet a line. It's going to be a high of 27 degrees in Ashburn (34 in Doswell) on Saturday!!

So, the Richmond Show is now looking appealing to me on Saturday. It's a 95 mile drive.

Preliminary plans: leave my house at 7:15, get there around 9 and then leave for home some time (TBD) after lunch.

Anyone want shotgun?

Good show....lots of folks in attendance. Not too many deals though.

The BRHS guys were selling raffle tickets like crazy....will diminish my chances of winning!
