Another Great Float on the Upper Potomac

On Friday David Burruss and I did the 10 mile float from Bonds Landing to Little Orleans in Maryland.  Conditions were perfect - overcast, very little breeze, and when it did kick up, it was a tailwind.  There had been a significant grass bloom since I last did this float five weeks ago, but when we found clear water we found fish.  Combined we landed 100 fish - all but 6 brim were SMB.  David caught two that measured 14" on the ruler - one was a pig (sorry, no camera).  Watermelon green worms and grubs were the bait of choice.  The SMB seemed unusually aggressive, which made even the smaller fish feel like a ton when they hit.  It also made the cheeseburgers at Bill's Place taste like we were eating at Capital Grille!

Going back next weekend, although that record out of one canoe will be tough to top.
