Went out this morning with Carlos Maceo and Trinh Pham to go fly fishing for shad up at Fletcher's. This was my first attempt....and I will have to try again to get one!

Trinh got the skunk ff early when he hooked on a little channel cat on a fly. That was cool. Carlos then caught a hickory shad in the fast water up above Chain Bridge. But that was it....we drifted and drifted and fished and fished and nothing more.

We (well Trinh got them all) managed to get a few herring and tried to rise up a striper or blue cat. We were hooked up twice but never managed to get one close. We did see a few stripers and cats being caught. A lot better that the shad fishermen who were having off days. Water is too clear and slow.

It was an unbelievably beautiful day and the time on the water was well spent.
