Would someone please tell me to stop trying to bass fish from my center console? It just ain't made for that!

The word on the water was that there was a hot bass and striper bite on the flats! So that's where I thought might be our best chance for fish today. We were joined by seventeen of our closest buds!

We actually started over by Ft. Belvoir and on the 1st cast of the day, Gabe nails this guy on a Tsunami holographic swim bait!

Shortly thereafter, I landed a little guy on a Specialized Baits Li'l Jimy jig (no trailer).

That bite died (we were almost at high tide). Speaking of tides, the incoming was being pushed with some wind so the slack tide lasted a long time before the outgoing got going but it was being slowed by some wind. That and a full moon.....

Anyway, we went deep near a sunken something to see if we could get something big to bite. Kent felt a slap and he set the hook.....

....into the tail of this blue cat. I was impressed with the sensitivity of his hands!

We then headed over to the flats and it was slooooooow as sloooooow can be. We kept looking at all of our buddies and very few fish were caught. Gabe did manage a nice 2-3 pounder but we lost him at the net (leader touch so it is a catch).

One of the neat things about fishing near DC is that you never know what you are going to see! This big boat (Army) was powered by seven (7) outboard engines....big ones!

These choppers (there were 9) came by in formation right after 4 Ospreys....too cool indeed!

Another great day on the water....that is all!

Time to go fishin' again!
