aquia 3/10

we struck out, skunked

water that was packed with big ones last year was only giving up the occasional keeper, on the old rattlerap.

my impatient buddy drove me nuts, motoring around and complaining.

time for my own boat

Re: aquia 3/10

At least you were able to get out.  I think it was probably a little early for the big gals to be up on the flats.  With water temps getting into the 50's, I think we'll see things turn on by the end of next week...at least I hope.

Re: aquia 3/10

Perhaps my definition of skunked is off, but typically it involves no fish. You mentioned however that you caught the occasional keeper. So, um, did you get skunked or did you catch the occasional keeper? lollollol

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

to me it reads water that was full of big ones last year yet they only managed small ones on a trap recently...so no skunk?

That's exactly how I read it. Either way, I'll take a bad day on the Potomac over a good day in the office any day!

Re: aquia 3/10

one guy w/ a great touch was hitting a few on a rattle trap.

we tried to copy his style , but couldnt get the feel right.

very subtle, like KVD in the classic.

he was also throwing a 1/4, we only had 1/2
