3-10-10, Lower potomac River

This is a "visual" report.

I crossed the 301 Bridge over the Lower Potomac this morning and got to see three boats working the slight rips at Morgantown Power Plant. The traffic was dead stopped on the bridge so I had a good look (2-3 minutes) but I never did see any fish come in to a boat.

The river was flat calm and there were thousands of comorants floating around. These guys' appetite will bring them upriver over the next few weeks.

I am thinking that hitting the Potomac below Ft. Washington in 10 days or so might be a good idea to see what might be stirring....will be looking for a crew.

3/20....out of Pohick! We chase WP, stripers, LMB....whatever....with artificials. LT Trolling will be the last resort.

The reason that I crossed the LP was that I had my boat in tow. I dropped it off at D & S for a further look but they promised that I could fish on the 20th.
