Re: Blizzard of 2010

I didn't have any problem driving from Leesburg to my mom's in Sterling yesterday morning in my Dakota with 33" aggressive tires.
My power was out so I went over there so I'd have the means to try to find a generator.  Some friends made some offers, but the power was back on around 1pm when I went home. I bought some tow straps Friday night and put them to use pulling a GrandAm out the snow on the Rt7>Algonkian Pkwy offramp.

My mom's street wasn't plowed but there was nothing too it other that a little digging to get backed out of the driveway when I left.

This is a tree in the backyard.  It has some facial features attached to it and the added snow really made it look interesting.

The big junipers on each side of the house snapped and a big part of a neighbor's tree broke off.

East Market St was deserted

Re: Blizzard of 2010

Great pics T! When I was picking up and delivering people yesterday morning, I drove through Leesburg a couple of times. It was post card pretty ....just like that 3rd picture from the bottom.

My son tried to move my truck last night and at least got it out of the way for the plows. There is a ton of snow underneath it which does not allow for any traction.

Re: Blizzard of 2010

You must be living right above the Xtreme sport club Purpleworm, I take my kids to the Taekwondo place across the street several times a week for the last 4 years.  I remember during the snowstorm, Strawberry Ln was iced up and cars were having problem going up the slope at the intersections.  There were a lot of stuck cars there.
