hey i got 2 more and me and patrick were talking and he brought up a good point
this is for all fish in the ashburn lakes
but i think that blue gill should only count for like half cuz everyone dosnt have a fly rod to go out and catch 13 blue gill in an hour
i think bass = 1 and bluegill = .5 and crappie = 1 as well

You don't need a fly rod to fish flies. Get a casting bubble, tie a 2' leader to one end and a little popping bug on the other end of the leader. Tie the other end of the bubble to your spinning rod and cast away. Your range will be better than someone with a fly rod unless your up against Lefty Kreh. Should be able to wear the gills out with that rig. Might not be a good idea to try this in front of a fly fishing purist, they might whack you with their creel.

Walt Popper who makes flies taught us about this at the last PRSC meeting. The rules are already made....I have a fly rod for the fishing club...all you would need to get is a reel, line, leader, flies, etc.

By the way, catching that many bluegill is not as easy as it sounds (you still have to find them, find what fly they are hitting, set the hook without losing the fly (lost a few out there), etc... Their are some days when I will catch none, and Matt and I always catch different numbers of them (ex. one day I had a ton and he had like two and the next day we each had like three and the day after that he beat me by a bunch)

Brandon and I created the club as a club that fishes for all fish not just bass. I found myself not exploring into other fish, and I then found that a lot of other fish are really fun. If you go away from bass you will find that a lot of fish are tons of fun like trout, striper, shad, etc. This is why we do trout trips and striper trips. I would suggest going after bluegills with a fly rod...it is a lot of fun..not boring...you have to give it a try on a fly rod before you bash it. I used to think it was stupid to, until I caught a bluegill on a fly. It was tons of fun and now I do it as much or more than bass. I would also suggest trying other fish...you will be surprised.

Since January 2009 I have caught species of fish that I have never caught before. They were shad and three species of trout (rainbow, brown, and brook).
