Fly Fishing Expedition
As part of my birthday present, my father wants to go on a fly fishing excursion. I am not sure if he is thinking local or somewhere further away, but I would like to solicit ideas from the forum for good places to fly fish within driving distance but including hotel in the event it is for a weekend. Please consider trout, smallmouth, etc. for your responses. Thanks!

Anglers Inn, Harpers Ferry, WV....they are a guide service/B&B.

If you want to do the bay for stripers, specks or reds, I also have many recomendations
Capt. MIke has an awesome bass on a fly evening trip in the summer
I can go on and on....lots of the guides I have used do fly.

The National Capitol TU Show is coming up (MD)and there will be lots of trout and smallie guide info there.

Elk Springs WV - good people, nice place - probably some smallies around, but mostly trout. they got cabins that can be had for decent rates, restuarant, resort type deal. Will be heading that way in March with Charlie and company for a fishing club trip.
if you decide to go a bit further, eastern Tennesse has some great rivers for both trout and smallies with plenty of lodgin options as well.
trout in VA is lacking unless you wanna do some native brook trout fishing. SNP is full of streams, and the shenandoah, rapidan and rappahannock rivers would be nearby for smallies.
now it's yesterday!
