Upper Potomac at Algonkian 9-27

I had a broken trailer bunk that I needed to change out, so put the boat in at the ramp. After the work I decided to try my luck.
The grass is so thick there it is nearly impossible to run a jet boat. I limped over to a catfish whole with some left over frozen herring from spring.
Did not take long to land a nice big channel cat (sorry no picture) Not long after that another strike, to my total amazement up comes a 16’ smallie on cut bait. That was a first for me and a sign that the fall bite has arrived.

Now if only the grass will die off.

16" smallie is a good one if not close to 3lbs. Nice fish!

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!
