11-16 massive LKA Snakehead

Got out around 9 am to troll for crappie using DT8s.  Caught a few crappie, including a nice 14' fish.  Was trolling back to the dock and one of the 2 back rods starts squealing.  I think it is a big striper.  Can hardly keep it out of the other 7 lines that are out.  Get it about 10 feet from the boat after what seemed forever.  It was a huge snakehead!  Scrambled for the big net and got it in.  About tore up everything in the back of the boat on the floor with all the thrashing around.  Finally got a boga grip on it and in the cooler it went.  Called Ellen to come down for a photo and headed to the dock.

Curly is a fish magnet. Period!

I think that fish was 32” and over 10#.

Bruce has seen one like that when I was fishing with him and Andy A. a few years back.

Curly,
So are you going to mount it or eat it? You probably wish you could do both. And yes, when I saw Ernie's big snakehead I had two thoughts: 1) that's a scary fish that could take off a finger; and 2) why didn't it hit my lure instead? Anyway, a great catch for you and a memory inducer for Ernie and me.
Bruce
p.s. is that a Lake Anna record?

Massive beast!  Was in attack mode!  I remember I hit one in my jon on the Potomac below WW Bridge.  My motor jumped out of the water (not locked) and then the fish jumped completely out of the water.  I got to the ramp and noticed a big chunk of snake skin on the edge or the prop protector.  Those things are tough!
